RATES DECREASE on Charitable Gift Annuities effective 1/1/2012

30 Days (from this posting) Until Rates Decline Again.  Do you have donors who might cherish the income and tax benefits from charitable gift annuities?  Year-end is a great time to get it done – especially this year!  For annuitants older than 60, one-life rates will decline by 0.5% to 0.8%, effective January 1, 2012.  See rates.  There are only 30 days left, but your denomination Foundations are standing by to help.  Why not check how easy it is to get a free proposal of gift annuity benefits right now?  How about for you personally!?  Check out your own rates on the gift calculator through

LILLY ENDOWMENT Supports PEER Network with Grant

OUR GREAT NEWS!

New Funding:  The PEER Network is proud to announce a grant of $265,000 from the Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc. to expand its work in assisting PCUSA churches and PCUSA-related not-for-profits to develop and improve their planned giving development programs.

What Will This Mean?  More tools; better resources; a new staff member in the coming months (see job posting).

Wealth Gap Between Young and Old Widest Ever

The typical U.S. household headed by a person age 65 or older has a net worth 47 times greater than a household headed by someone under 35. While people typically accumulate assets as they age, this wealth gap is now more than double what it was in 2005 and nearly five times the 10-to-1 disparity a quarter-century ago, after adjusting for inflation.
